Make your Poker Dreams come True

Evaluating the Game

Sometimes you will feel like things could not go any better for you at the poker table. You seem to be winning almost every hand you play and you keep getting amazing cards. This happens to everyone once in a while. I’ve had three straight flushes my entire life—and two of them were within five minutes of each other. When you go through good luck spurts like these, poker is fun, but what should you do if the game seems unbeatable? You need to have a good analysis and evaluation to figure your next step out.

The first thing to evaluate is the betting structure. More specifically, you need to honestly evaluate whether or not you are comfortable with the stakes you are playing at. If you are comfortable, you will make better decisions than you would if you are playing in a game where the minimum bets seem too high. Tilt comes in many forms, being afraid to lose is one of the trickiest types of tilt there is.

The next step is to analyze the players at the table. Are you losing hands because you are playing against better players? Or are you losing because of bad luck? This is a bit more difficult to determine, but you need to get a feel of whether or not you are in over your head. If you are truly playing against better players, find a new table. If you are just suffering from bad luck, recheck your game for flaws and keep plugging along. Luck can change in the blink of an eye.
